The Jane Eyre star revealed that he finds it difficult to watch himself on screen, particularly in a movie in which he is naked.
"I mean, how many times can you watch yourself, and especially with something like Shame," Fassbender told The Hollywood Reporter.
"I had done the film so I was aware of what was in it, but the way they edited it, I kind of watched the last third like this," he added, covering his eyes.
The actor went on to say that he is not worried about his upcoming project Prometheus.
"I keep everything very simple," he insisted.
Fassbender recently explained that the Ridley Scott project is shrouded in secrecy, but added that the trailer for the film is "perfect".
At Sunday's (January 15) Golden Globe Awards, George Clooney teased the actor for his nudity in Shame, thanking Fassbender for "taking over the frontal nude responsibility".
