'The Artist', 'A Separation' win at London Film Critics' Circle Awards

The Artist has continued its award-winning run by taking three prizes at the 32nd London Film Critics' Circle Awards.


The silent film won 'Film of the Year', 'Director of the Year' for Michel Hazanavicius, and 'Actor of the Year' for Jean Dujardin.
Asghar Farhadi's A Separation also won three awards at the event at BFI Southbank, taking home 'Foreign Language Film of the Year', 'Screenwriter of the Year' for Farhadi and 'Supporting Actress of the Year' for Sareh Bayat.
Meryl Streep won the 'Actress of the Year' award for The Iron Lady, while Olivia Colman won the 'Moët & Chandon Award: British Actress of the Year ' for The Iron Lady and Tyrannosaur.
True Blood's Anna Paquin was tied with Streep for 'Actress of the Year' for Margaret.
Michael Fassbender won 'British Actor of the Year' for his roles in Shame and A Dangerous Method, while Kenneth Branagh won 'Supporting Actor of the Year' for My Week with Marilyn.


The 'Attenborough Award: British Film of the Year' was given to Lynne Ramsay's We Need To Talk About Kevin. The 'Documentary of the Year' was won by Asif Kapadia's Senna.
Drive and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy were among the 'Critics' Circle Top 10 Films of 2011' list.
The Artist has won three Golden Globe Awards, three Critics' Choice Movie Awards and has been nominated for 12 BAFTAs.
