Sigourney Weaver endorses 'Prometheus': 'I'm curious to see it'

Sigourney Weaver has given her blessing to Alien prequel Prometheus.
The actress, who played the original series' protagonist Ripley in four movies, said that she is "glad" director Ridley Scott is revisiting the franchise, and praised the decision to continue the saga in outer space.

Weaver previously expressed interest in reprising her role as Ripley for a final film, though disagreement about the content of such a project is rumoured to have caused tension between the actress and production studio Fox.
"Fox and I disagreed on how the franchise should continue. But I'm glad it's Ridley doing it, and I'll be as curious as anyone, or maybe more curious, to see it," she told The Independent.
"I think he took my suggestion. Fox wanted to go to earth and I said, 'That's so boring. Who wants to see aliens on earth?' I said, 'Go back to the planet'."
Prometheus, starring Guy Pearce, Michael Fassbender and Charlize Theron, will open in cinemas on June 8.
