The nominations for the 2012 Academy Awards will be announced today (January 24) at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills by Jennifer Lawrence and Tom Sherak.
Black and white silent movie The Artist has performed strongly in this year's awards race, picking up three Golden Globes and netting 12 nominations to lead the way at the 2012 BAFTAs.
