Julia Roberts, Alec Baldwin sign onto Ryan Murphy project

Ryan Murphy has announced his next big-screen project.

The Glee creator revealed that he will direct a film adaptation of the play The Normal Heart, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Julia Roberts, Alec Baldwin, Matt Bomer and Jim Parsons have signed on to star in the project.

Parsons previously appeared in the recent Broadway revival of the play, which chronicles the rise of HIV/AIDS in the '80s.

Roberts will play Dr Emma Brookner, with Baldwin portraying a lawyer struggling to deal with his brother's sexual orientation.

White Collar's Bomer will take the role of a gay fashion journalist, while Parsons will reprise his role as a gay activist.

Murphy recently joked that he would be bringing American Horror Story's Rubber Man to the Golden Globes.
