The actor was asked if he is interested in reuniting with Roberts again while he was attending the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.
"Of course [I want to work with Roberts]," Gere told Access Hollywood.
The star went on to joke: "She's a lot older than me, so I don't know if it's gonna work."
Gere is currently appearing opposite Susan Sarandon and Tim Roth in director Nicholas Jarecki's financial drama Arbitrage, which was screened at the Sundance Film Festival.
Arbitrage is expected to be released later this year.
Gere is to receive the prestigious George Eastman Award at a gala dinner in Rochester, New York next month.
