The Friday Night Lights star portrayed the card-throwing Cajun in Hugh Jackman's 2009 prequel X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
However, he admitted that he doesn't think the character will be back now that the franchise has been rebooted.
On the prospect of playing the Marvel superhero again, Kitsch said: "I'd love to do it again, but we're going to do it right and we're going to do it dark."
Kitsch can next be seen starring in Disney's sci-fi epic John Carter and naval blockbuster Battleship. He finishes 2012 in the ensemble cast of Oliver Stone's Savages with Blake Lively, Uma Thurman and John Travolta.
