Paramount ditches Tom Cruise
Paramount Pictures has ended its long relationship with Tom Cruise due to his offscreen behaviour.

Over the past year the Mission: Impossible III actor has been perceived as behaving eratically, after publicly criticising actress Brooke Shields for using drugs to combat post-natal depression and jumping up and down on a couch declaring his love for Katie Holmes during an interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The company has worked with the star for fourteen years, but in a recent interview chairman Sumner Redstone revealed that ties with Cruise's production company, Cruise/Wagner Productions, are being cut.

Redstone told the Wall Street Journal: "As much as we like him personally, we thought it was wrong to renew his deal. His recent conduct has not been acceptable to Paramount."
