Relativity Media has announced that director F Javier Gutiérrez and writer Jesse Wigutow will tackle James O'Barr's graphic novel.
Gutiérrez is best known for his work on his directorial debut, 2008's Spanish-language apocalyptic thriller Before the Fall (Tres Dias), which became a surprise international sensation.
He is currently developing Dimension Films' sci-fi thriller The Greys.
Wigutow most recently did a rewrite on Robert Ludlum's thriller The Osterman Weekend. His previous credits include Tron: Legacy, 8 Mile and Eragon.
Bradley Cooper, Mark Wahlberg and Jason Statham have all previously been connected with the film.
The Crow was famously adapted into the 1994 film starring Brandon Lee, who died after an accident on set.
The story centres around a murdered man who rises from his grave to seek revenge.
