The former Heroes star, who plays Spock in the films, revealed that he is having a great time on the set of the follow-up to the 2009 movie.
"It's been really great," Quinto told E! Online. "We've been shooting for a week and a half, and it's been an incredible return to that world."
The actor went on to say that he is thrilled to be working alongside the new cast additions, which include Benedict Cumberbatch and Alice Eve.
"All of them have folded in so beautifully and brought a whole new level of intelligence and sensitivity," Quinto said.
Director JJ Abrams recently described Sherlock star Cumberbatch as a "genius".
The film is due for release on May 17, 2013.
