The fact-based comedy, about a private dancer who becomes a player in the world of high-stakes gambling, was screened at the Sundance Film Festival last Sunday (January 22), and was purchased by The Weinstein Company, says The Hollywood Reporter.
According to a source, the star-studded movie, which sees Catherine Zeta-Jones, Bruce Willis, Joshua Jackson, Laura Prepon, Rebecca Hall and Vince Vaughn take up roles, was traded with help from the Creative Artist Agency who represented the filmmakers.
The deal was widely expected and has been in the works since the middle of the week. A combination Video On Demand and theatrical release is planned.
