The actor spoofed his iconic Ferris Bueller's Day Off character in a commercial for Honda's CR-V scheduled to air during the February 5 event.
"It took a little, uh, thinking about it, it took a little time, but I ended up thinking it might be amusing," Broderick told New York Magazine.
"Todd Phillips was directing it, who's a good director, and I thought it would be fun to send up Ferris Bueller a little bit... I guess I'm part of a virus."
Kelly Clarkson will sing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl, while Madonna will perform at the half-time show alongside Cirque du Soleil.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off star Alan Ruck has said that he is not looking forward to Broderick's ad as he believes the character should not be revived.
