Lenny Kravitz has revealed that he was immediately drawn to his Hunger Games character Cinna.
The 'American Woman' rocker revealed that while he has been offered several roles in recent years, it was not until he read the script for the adaptation of Suzanne Collins' young adult dystopian trilogy that he decided to return to acting.

"I thought it was really good storytelling. I'm very much into stories. The character was interesting. I like [director Gary Ross's] previous work. And I said, 'Yeah, let's go,'" Kravitz recalled to Rolling Stone.
"[Cinna]'s very streamlined, he's very quiet. He knows what he's doing. He's confident. He's got a big heart. I just liked the way he moved – very smooth."
Kravitz went on to say that while he is always in control of his musical career, he loves having the opportunity to let Ross's direction take over in The Hunger Games.
"It's about me, as it should be. But in this case, it's got nothing to do with me. It's about a director's vision, a character, and I really like that," he said.
The Hunger Games, which also stars Jennifer Lawrence, Elizabeth Banks, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson and Josh Hutcherson, opens on March 23.
