The Red Riding Hood actor has joined Mo Ogrodnik's Deep Powder and the Evil Dead remake, Variety reports.
Evil Dead, written and directed by Fede Alvarez, is a reboot of Sam Raimi's classic horror series which saw Bruce Campbell's Ash take on a horde of malevolent spirits. Raimi and Campell will produce the new film along with Rob Tapert.
Abduction actress Lily Collins, who was cast as Mia in the movie, recently dropped out due to scheduling conflicts.
Deep Powder is written and directed by Ogrodnik, who has kept plot details for the project under wraps. Shooting will commence in New York at the end of February.
Evil Dead will begin filming later this year.
