The Bourne Legacy has debuted its first trailer.
The action thriller sees the Oscar-nominated Mission: Impossible star Jeremy Renner take over the franchise from Matt Damon, whose Jason Bourne character doesn't figure in the new story from writer/director Tony Gilroy.
Watch the trailer for The Bourne Legacy, opening in cinemas on August 15, below:
Renner plays Aaron Cross, an agent from a covert government programme similar to the Treadstone facility that trained Bourne (Damon).
"For fans of the franchise, it has that same ticking clock, but it's a new programme and new characters," Renner said last November.
"It's the same tempo and pace but more expansive and bigger. The differences are pretty vast but you'll know it's a Bourne movie."
The Bourne Legacy will open in cinemas in August, with Edward Norton, Oscar Isaac and Rachel Weisz joining franchise regulars Joan Allen and Albert Finney.
