Rob Liefeld has revealed that work on the Youngblood movie has begun again.

He has said that the project, which stalled three years ago, is once again progressing.

"Just got off of a fantastic call per the Youngblood movie," Liefeld wrote on Twitter.

"After 3 years of dealmaking we are moving forward!"

The film was last reported to have X-Men: The Last Stand's Brett Ratner attached to produce, with Liefeld directing the adaptation of his comic.

Previous comments by Ratner have revealed that the project was mired in rights issues which have only just begun to be resolved.

Liefeld is currently writing and illustrating Hawk and Dove for DC Comics. He will be working on Deathstroke, Grifter and The Savage Hawkman following the imminent cancellation of his current series.

The Infinite, Liefeld's Image Comics collaboration with Robert Kirkman, was recently cancelled over creative differences.
