The likes of Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson will shoot scenes on the seafront when production moves from London in the run-up to the Olympic Games, sources claim.
"Southend will be perfect for The Fast and the Furious 6," an insider told The Sun. "The long stretches along the seafront means cars can travel at a fair pace and it will be easier to film.
"Young locals are going to love it. The older mob won't appreciate the noise."
The latest instalment of the racing franchise was confirmed back in June after Fast & Furious 5 grossed over $626m (£395m) worldwide.
Speaking to Digital Spy this week, Johnson vowed that his character Luke Hobbs will "bring it" for the upcoming sequel.
"In Fast 6 there's unfinished business," he said. "Hobbs is going to bring it. Hobbs is gonna rip someone's f**king face off, is what Hobbs is going to do!"
