Columbia Pictures drops 'The Boys' movie adaptation

The adaptation of Garth Ennis's comic has been put into 'turnaround', according to Heat Vision.
The status means that producers Neal H Moritz and Jason Netter's project will be available for other studios to acquire.
The Boys follows a CIA team whose role is to police the superhuman community and prevent them from misusing their powers.

Seth Rogen and writing collaborators Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay have all worked on the screenplay since the film went into development in 2009.
Illustrated by Darick Robertson (Transmetropolitan), The Boys comic series launched in 2006.
