Universal Pictures is pursuing him to revive its lagging production on the vampire movie, reports Deadline.
Sam Worthington was previously attached to the project, which was being helmed by Alex Proyas.
Production was due to begin but was halted at the last moment due to a spiralling budget.
Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless were brought in to write a new draft of the screenplay. Michael De Luca is still attached as producer.
Proyas (Dark City, I, Robot) departed the project to work on Paradise Lost, which has also been shelved.
Worthington is seemingly no longer involved in Dracula: Year Zero.
Shore is best known for his work on the short/trailer for The Cup Of Tears.
