Neveldine told The Playlist that lead actor Nicolas Cage has expressed interest in appearing in another sequel, and hinted that one could go ahead should Spirit of Vengeance prove a success.
"I know Nic wants to do it, he's very pumped about it," the director said. "We'll just to see how well [this] does."
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance sees Cage reprise his role as the Marvel Comics anti-hero Johnny Blaze, as he fights to prevent a young boy from becoming the anti-Christ.
Cage recently told Digital Spy that he drew inspiration from his pet cobra for the title character's on-screen movement. He also revealed that the sequel will be "edgier" than its predecessor.
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance opens in cinemas on February 17.
