Rachel Weisz's latest film The Fountain has met with disapproval when shown for the first time at the Venice Film Festival.
The movie spans a thousand year time period and tells the story of a man in search of the fountain of youth in order to save the life of the woman he loves, but some critics have complained that it was too difficult to follow.
Weisz staunchly defended the project, which was written and directed by her partner Darren Aronofsky, arguing it was important to maintain diversity when it comes to cinema.
She told WENN: "I think it's wonderful that this film is so different. I would love to work with Darren again."
