The 84th Annual Academy Awards saw the movie world's finest assemble at the Hollywood & Highland Centre to honour the best films and performances from the last 12 months.
Billy Crystal compered the ceremony for the ninth time as Martin Scorsese's Hugo and black-and-white silent movie The Artist led the winners, with acting awards going to Jean Dujardin, Meryl Streep, Christopher Plummer and Octavia Spencer.
