Adam Sandler has broken the record for the most number of Golden Raspberry nominations.

The comedian earned 11 nominations for the Golden Raspberry Awards, which honour the very worst filmmaking in Hollywood, beating Eddie Murphy's previous record of five. He received nominations as actor, writer and producer for Jack and Jill, Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star and Just Go With It.

Jack and Jill earned 12 nominations, including 'Worst Picture' and 'Worst Supporting Actor' for Al Pacino.

Worst acting nominations also went to Taylor Lautner in Abduction, Nicolas Cage for three separate films including Drive Angry, Sarah Palin in Sarah Palin: The Undefeated, Kristen Stewart in Breaking Dawn, and Sarah Jessica Parker in I Don't Know How She Does It.

The nominations were announced on Saturday night (February 25), on the eve of Hollywood's biggest awards ceremony, the Academy Awards, which airs tonight (February 26) on ABC in the US and Sky Movies in the UK.

Sandler, who recently received a more positive nomination for his acting at the Kids' Choice awards, is currently making another comedy, Hotel Transylvania, with Selena Gomez.
