The former rugby player, who recently starred in reality TV series The Bachelor, is believed to be in talks to appear in a romantic comedy alongside Sir Anthony Hopkins and Slumdog Millionaire child actress Rubina Ali.
According to the Daily Mail, the movie is called Lord Owen's Lady and will be filmed in India, England and Wales. Henson is allegedly in the running to play a Welsh nobleman who falls in love with an Indian girl.
His agent Matthew Ginvert said: "Gavin was approached about Lord Owen's Lady last year and has held a meeting with producers but we haven't heard back from them since then. At this stage he hasn't signed anything."
Ali, who was handpicked from Mumbai's slums to play a lead role in Slumdog Millionaire, said that she was looking forward to meeting Henson. "I have heard he is a huge star and he is very handsome," she said. "So I am really excited to meet him and work with him."
The former child star recently moved into a new £50,000 Mumbai apartment with her family and is now preparing for her trip to the UK. She said: "I'm so excited because I think this is going to be my best year."
Henson hired an acting coach in 2010 shortly after his split from singer Charlotte Church.
