Former 24 regular Reiko Aylesworth has been signed up for a lead role in AVP: Alien vs. Predator 2, which commences filming in Vancouver next week.
According to the report in Variety Aylesworth, who played CTU agent Michelle Dessler in four series of the hit show, will star alongside Rescue Me's Steven Pasquale.
Armageddon writer Shane Salerno has developed the script, with former visual effects supervisors Greg and Colin Strause on board to direct.
The first AVP film was lambasted by critics and fans alike, but reaped enough financial rewards at the box office to greenlight a sequel. With an estimated budget of $45 million, the movie grossed over $170 million worldwide.
AVP: Alien vs. Predator 2 is tentatively scheduled for release in late 2007.
