Based on the 1970s British police drama series of the same name, The Sweeney follows two detectives (Ray Winstone and Ben Drew - aka Plan B) from the London's Metropolitan police department.
The Sweeney also features Homeland's Damian Lewis, Luther's Steven Mackintosh and Hayley Atwell of Captain America: The First Avenger fame.
Mackintosh previously called the casting choices in the movie "inspiring".
He told Digital Spy: "The script was great fun, and I think Ray Winstone and Ben Drew as the two guys is an inspired casting choice. I had a lot of fun making it, so I can't wait to see how it turns out!"
The Sweeney will arrive in theatres on September 21 in the UK.
