The Legally Blonde star revealed that he would love to reprise his role from the original film, in spite of the injuries his character sustained.
"Somebody just told me [about Anchorman 2] last week," Wilson told Collider.
"I had forgotten that I'd lost both my arms, in the first one," he continued. "It would be so fun to do it. I would love to do something on that."
The actor also spoke about his role on Enlightened, saying that he has enjoyed being a part of a TV series for more than one season.
"I'm doing the second season of the HBO show Enlightened, that I did last year," Wilson said. "That's really fun.
"I've never done a show like that, and I've never come back to a show for another season," he added. "It's really interesting to do that. And, I just like the people so much... It's been really, really fun to do."
Will Ferrell confirmed the news of a sequel in late March, prerecording an appearance in character as newscaster Ron Burgundy for Conan O'Brien's show.
