The actor described portraying Superman's alter ego as "overwhelming" and assured fans that the Zack Snyder-helmed reboot will be more "realistic and emotional" than previous entries in the series.

He told ClevverTV: "When Zack and I were talking about it the first time, he was saying how Superman, they want to give it a more edgy feel like The Dark Knight but also make it more realistic and emotional so it's not just the all-American superhero that saves everyone.
"He has dilemmas and love and struggles throughout the whole movie, especially when he's a kid."
Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill as the present day Superman alongside an ensemble cast that includes Amy Adams, Michael Shannon and Russell Crowe. Shannon will portray the movie's antagonist, General Zod.
The film is scheduled to arrive in cinemas worldwide on June 14, 2013.
