David Strathairn has signed up to The Spiderwick Chronicles, which he will work on before moving onto The Bourne Ultimatum.
Directed by Mark Waters (Just Like Heaven), The Spiderwick Chronicles tells the fantastic tale of three children who move into an elderly relative's mansion where they happen upon a magical book which transports them to a strange new world.
Once his duties on Spiderwick are fulfilled, the Good Night and Good Luck actor will move onto work on the third film in Universal's Bourne series. He will take the role of the head of an operation which is targeting the eponymous hero (Matt Damon).
