Benedict Cumberbatch 'changed physique' for 'Star Trek 2'

By
Benedict Cumberbatch has opened up about his role playing the villain in the upcoming Star Trek sequel.

The Sherlock star told ComingSoon that he had to bulk up for the part, and has gone up by "two suit sizes" as a result.

He said: "I've gone up two suit sizes. The character I'm playing, he's strong. I can say that much. I've changed my physique a bit, so that requires eating like a foie gras goose, well beyond your appetite.

"Providing I don't feel too ill, I then work out two hours a day with a phenomenal trainer. It's the LA way."

Chris Pine, who will reprise his role as Captain Kirk for the sequel, previously described the movie as "relentless" and suggested that it will live up to the standard of its predecessor.

Director JJ Abrams recently confirmed that the Star Trek follow-up will be post-converted into 3D.
