Contrary to previous reports, the co-creator of the Marvel Comics superhero team has been credited as such in Joss Whedon's film, according to Moviefone.
The name of the legendary artist and writer had been omitted from promotional material for the upcoming Marvel Studios production.

Veteran creator Steve Bissette and James Sturm, co-founder of the Centre for Cartoon Studies, had both called for boycotts of the film surrounding the supposed exclusion.
Kirby ended his professional relationship with the publisher in 1970, and maintained a tempestuous relationship with Marvel and his former collaborator Lee, clashing with them over the rights to his creations until his death in 1994.
In a recent interview, Lee questioned why Kirby should be credited in The Avengers.
The Avengers opened in UK cinemas yesterday (April 26) and will debut in the US on May 4.
