The former Hustle and EastEnders actor will play the lead role in the project from director Ben Pickering.
The film follows Brad (Di Angelo), a struggling London lawyer whose life gets turned upside down when he overhears a drug deal. The story also follows the relationship between Brad and a prostitute named Jodie, played by Lili Bordán (Silent Witness, Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome).
Speaking about the film, Di Angelo said: "I've done lots of TV but I was compelled to take on the role of Brad when I read the script for the first time because I've always wanted to play a romantic lead.
"I get a lot of film offers but what's great about Two Days in the Smoke is that it's not just another typical gangster movie, it allows me to be versatile as an actor because there are action packed fight scenes but also an emotional love story attached to my character."
Also starring in the film are Stephen Marcus (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels), Darren Ripley (Wilderness), Alan Ford (Snatch) and Velibor Topic (Kingdom of Heaven, Snatch).
EastEnders actor Ricky Groves also stars in the project, along with former B*Witched singer Lindsay Armaou and Made in Chelsea's Funda Önal.
Two Days in the Smoke has yet to receive a confirmed release date, but is expected to hit UK cinemas in the autumn.
Matt Di Angelo spoke to Digital Spy about the end of Hustle earlier this year, describing it as "mental".
