Simon Pegg has been cast in the dramatic comedy Hector and the Search for Happiness.

The Peter Chelsom-directed film is an adaptation of a Francois Lelord novel with Pegg as the lead, reports Collider.

Hector and the Search for Happiness tells the story of a London psychiatrist who journeys around the globe to find out if happiness exists, after his patients stop being happy.

The project, which Chelsom co-wrote with Tinker Lindsay, will begin filming when Pegg finishes with The World's End this fall.

The World's End marks the final film in Pegg and Nick Frost's trilogy, which began with Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.

Meanwhile, Pegg can soon be seen in A Fantastic Fear of Everything, out on June 8 in the UK.
