The franchise - directed by Brett Ratner and co-starring comedian Chris Tucker - has proven successful for Chan in the past. However, the star quashed rumours of a new addition to the series during an appearance at the Cannes Film Festival.
Chan told Empire: "I don't want it to happen at this moment... [it'll] probably [be in] another five or ten years... And at that time I might retire.
"Us being old guys might make it a more interesting story. But at this moment, I don't think it's something I want to do."
Chan recently starred in a remake of The Karate Kid alongside Jaden Smith, a sequel to which is currently in the works.
The actor is currently promoting his latest film Chinese Zodiac which he has said will be his last action movie.
