Brian Robbins has signed on to direct Eddie Murphy comedy Starship Dave, reports Variety.
The film tells the story of a group of small humanoid aliens who are in search of a way to save their dying planet. However, their plans go awry when Dave, the human starship in which they are travelling, inconveniently falls in love.
Peter Segal was originally expected to direct the movie, but has now opted out in favour of Get Smart.
The new appointment brings about the second Robbins/Murphy collaboration, having recently worked together on Norbit. The tale of a weak-willed man's love life, Norbit hits screens next year.
