Killing Them Softly is Dominik's adaptation of 1974 bestseller Cogan's Trade, updated to be centred on the 2008 financial crisis.
The film focuses on a hitman (Pitt) whose gambling-based assignment plays out against the backdrop of the crimes taking place on Wall Street.
Killing Them Softly will hit US cinemas on September 21.
Pitt recently defended the film's political content, insisting that it is not an attack on US president Barack Obama.
