The region one two-disc set will include more than three hours of bonus material, Entertainment Weekly reports.
This will include behind-the-scenes features about the adaptation from page to screen, cast and crew interviews, and the full-length propaganda film which plays before the Reaping ceremony.
The film will become available on DVD, Blu-ray and digital download at 12.01am on August 18.
An extended trailer for the DVD and Blu-ray can be seen at Entertainment Weekly (for US viewers only).
It isn't yet clear whether the same bonus material and release date will apply to the home entertainment release across all regions.
The next instalment in the franchise, Catching Fire, will be directed by Francis Lawrence (Water For Elephants) and is due for release in November next year.
It has been reported that the script may receive a rewrite from Toy Story 3's Michael Arndt .
