McGregor rejected James Bond role

Ewan McGregor rejected the chance to become the new James Bond, according to the director of the franchise's latest instalment Casino Royale.
Martin Campbell told the Daily Mirror: "I think he got another job or decided he didn't want it."
Campbell speculated that McGregor was fearful of being typecast if he accepted the role, having already starred as Obi Wan Kenobi in the recent Star Wars trilogy. Daniel Craig's subsequent appointment as 007 led to disapproval from a vocal minority of fans and media on the basis of his physical appearance.
Casino Royale will be released next month.
