'Les Misérables': Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway musical in pictures

Les Misérables, the smash Broadway musical, will hit the big screen this winter with a star-packed cast featuring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter.

Based on Victor Hugo's classic novel and the subsequent stage show, Les Misérables centres on an escaped convict, Jean Valjean (Jackman), on the run from Inspector Javert (Crowe). Hathaway takes on the role of starving prostitute Fantine.

Les Misérables is scheduled for a December 14 release in the US and January 11 in the UK.
