A new red band trailer and TV spot for Steven Soderbergh's upcoming film Magic Mike have been released.

Channing Tatum stars as veteran stripper Magic Mike, who shows a novice (Alex Pettyfer) the ropes of the profession.

Both leads feature prominently in the trailer alongside Matthew McConaughey, playing a former stripper who now owns the club - Xquisite - at which Tatum and Pettyfer work.

McConaughey commented recently that the role had forced him to get into shape.

Speaking about his real experiences as a male stripper, Tatum confessed that he hated the profession, saying: "You are on a stage with people yelling at you and you feel like you're a rock star, but you're nothing.

"You're just a guy taking off his clothes, looking like a fool in a stupid outfit."

Magic Mike opens in the US on June 29, and hits UK cinemas on July 11.
