Antonio Banderas to join Pedro Almodovar's 'The Brief Lovers'

Antonio Banderas is in talks to join the cast of Pedro Almodovar's The Brief Lovers.

The Puss in Boots star will appear in the film alongside Penelope Cruz, who is currently wrapping up rehearsals for the final shoot.



The Brief Lovers is a ensemble comedy that centres around a plane crash. Fearing for their lives, the aircraft's passengers begin to confess their innermost secrets to one another.

Banderas and Cruz, who will star as two of the passengers, are to shoot all of their scenes in a single day, Screen Daily understands.

Javier Cámara, Guillermo Toledo, Raúl Arévalo, Hugo Silva, Cecilia Roth, Miguel Angel Silvestre, Blanca Suárez, José María Yazik and Antonio de la Torre will all feature among the supporting cast.

The Brief Lovers is yet to receive a release date.
