The first Twilight movie, released in 2008, starred Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson as an awkward teenage girl and a mysterious vampire who fall in love.
Rumours emerged earlier today that the production company was working on a fifth anniversary remake of the popular movie series, based on the books by Stephenie Meyer.
However, Deadline reports that Lionsgate executive Rob Friedman has come out with a statement refuting the claims.
"We are not remaking Twilight," Friedman explained. "We will happily support Stephenie Meyer if she decides to proceed in any way. But this will be the last one, unless that should change."
Lionsgate produced the recent blockbuster hit based on another successful novel, The Hunger Games. The company also owns Summit Entertainment, which has produced the last four movies in the Twilight Saga.
The final instalment of the franchise, Breaking Dawn - Part 2, is scheduled for a November 16 release in the US and the UK.
