'Ted's Mark Wahlberg: 'It's easier to act opposite an animated bear'

Mark Wahlberg has revealed that he prefers acting opposite a teddy bear.

The 41-year-old stars in the upcoming film Ted, which follows a man whose teddy bear came to life when he was a child and continues to live with him as an adult.

Wahlberg confessed that while it was initially hard to get used to starring alongside an inanimate object, he soon grew to like it.

"It's easier than working with another actor," he told the New York Daily News.

"Actors are a pain in the ass," he continued. "With a teddy bear, there are no ego problems and you only need one take."

He went on to explain the method of shooting his scenes opposite the bear.

"They'd have a little stick there with a couple of dots on it for the eyes and I'd just have to visualise that the bear was there," he said. "It took some getting used to, but in the end it was a great experience."

Wahlberg recently admitted that he almost bought the rights to the erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey.

Ted is released on June 29 in the US and August 1 in the UK.
