'Guardians of the Galaxy' movie rumours gain pace

Guardians of the Galaxy movie rumours have re-emerged following reports that Marvel Entertainment has filed 11 trademarks related to the series.

Bleeding Cool claims that the company has registered applications for branded jewellery, drinks, food, furniture, cosmetics, computer games, fabrics, paper goods and entertainment services.



Marvel Studios president of production Kevin Feige previously confirmed that a movie based on Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning's version of the cosmic team is under consideration.

Disney has dated two Marvel films for a 2014 release, one of which is a sequel to Captain America: The First Avenger, while the other remains unconfirmed.

Ant-Man and Black Panther are strong contenders, as well as Guardians of the Galaxy.

The Guardians of the Galaxy will return to Marvel's comic book universe in Avengers Assemble #6 in August.
