Robot and Frank trailer: Frank Langella plans heist with robot - watch

A new trailer for Robot and Frank has been released.

The film, set in the "near future," stars Frank Langella as Frank, an ageing jewel thief who plans one last heist with a robot.



Frank, who struggles with new technology, receives the robot from his children (James Marsden and Liv Tyler) to look out for him and help him with various chores like gardening.

Soon, the duo plot to steal jewels from a young man who wants to renovate the local library.

Directed by Jake Schreier, the film also stars Susan Sarandon, Jeremy Strong, Jeremy Sisto and Peter Sarsgaard, who voices the robot.

Langella, who was nominated for an Oscar for Frost/Nixon, previously appeared in The Box, also starring Marsden.

Robot and Frank opens in US theatres on August 24.
