Fabien Martorell's Snuff adaptation is moving forward after receiving funding from Immortal Transmedia.
The Tromatized: Meet Lloyd Kaufman writer will bring Chuck Palahniuk's novel to the big screen based on a script he penned with Golan Ramras, Variety reports.
Snuff follows a porn star named Cassie Wright who is on a mission to break the world record for serial fornication on camera by having sex with 600 men. The story is told from the perspectives of Mr. 72, Mr. 137 and Mr. 600 as they wait in line.
Daryl Hannah has been linked with the lead role of Wright, with Tom Sizemore and Thora Birch expected to take on supporting roles. Jean Pierre Magro and Dean O'Toole will produce the film.
French filmmaker Martorell reportedly wants to film Snuff on a single "closed door" set and use flashbacks to reveal more about the central characters. Martorell penned the script with Karina Wilson.
Palahniuk's novel is inspired by adult actress Annabel Chong, who engaged in 251 sexual acts with 70 men over 10 hours.
Previous works by the author to have inspired films include Fight Club and Choke.
