The American actor, who plays a mercenary tracking an elusive Tazmanian tiger in his new film The Hunter, confirmed to Digital Spy that he will be reuniting with the controversial director following his starring role in von Trier's 2009 shocker Antichrist.
"I talked to Lars and yeah, there's something for me to do in that. I'm happy," Dafoe told DS.
Lars von Trier previously claimed that Nymphomaniac will contain explicit sex scenes and show penetration.
Dafoe's Antichrist co-star Charlotte Gainsbourg has also been cast, but Kirsten Dunst confirmed last year that she would not be in the film.
