James Bond exhibition 'Designing 007' at the Barbican - pictures

A new James Bond 50th anniversary exhibition will open at London's Barbican Centre tomorrow (Friday, July 6).

'Designing 007 - Fifty Years of Bond Style' is guest-curated by Oscar-winning Bond designer Lindy Hemming and fashion historian Bronwyn Cosgrave.

The exhibition features original props, costumes, sketches and set designs from all 22 released Bond films, from 1962's Dr No to 2008's Quantum of Solace.

Items on show include Scaramanga's Golden Gun from 1974's The Man with the Golden Gun, Oddjob's steel-rimmed bowler hat from 1964's Goldfinger and Jaws's metal teeth from 1977's The Spy Who Loved Me.

Iconic 007 vehicles such as the Aston Martin DB5 and Pierce Brosnan's motorcycle from 1997's Tomorrow Never Dies can also be viewed at the Barbican, while specially commissioned costume recreations include Sean Connery's Dr No tuxedo and a Moonraker spacesuit.

'Designing 007' remains in London til September 5. The exhibition is open daily 11am-8pm, every Thursday late until 10pm. Standard admission costs £12, while concessions are £10 and under-16s pay £8.
