The movie stars Charlie Hunnam and Rinko Kikuchi as a pair of unlikely heroes that turn the tide of a war between mankind and monsters called Kaiju that rise from the ocean depths.
Mankind fights back with its Jaegars, but are failing until the two resurrect a defunct fighting machine from the past.
The film also stars Idris Elba, Max Martini, Rob Kazinsky, Clifton Collins Jr and Diego Klattenhoff.
Pacific Rim has a San Diego Comic-Con International panel scheduled for 2.30pm on Saturday, July 14.
The movie itself will be released on July 12, 2013.
