The 25-year-old, who stars as Alice Cullen in Stephanie Meyer's vampire franchise, revealed that while acting in a series of films requires hard work, it ultimately allowed her to determine how she works best as a creative artist.
"What Twilight gave me was years to consider how I wanted to work otherwise," Greene explained in a new interview with Esquire. "It's a good age. It's an age of choices."
Greene went on to credit her Twilight castmates, including Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, with helping her retain her sanity through the difficult shooting schedule the films have required over the years.
"You make five movies with the same people and they really do feel like family. But film those same five movies in different locations, and none of the locations ever really feels like home," she said.
Greene recently insisted that she has "no regrets" over her Hollywood career.
